You guys, I am rapidly becoming convinced that my secret superpower is my apparently unstoppable ability to hide my point at the end of a paragraph/section/chapter/whatever. It is not a good superpower. I don't want it.

Just so long as it's not the unstoppable ability to hide a verb in a noun, which I swear to god is the worst thing I constantly see academic writers doing. When I have time I'm planning to write a post on the subject.

Pardon me, I mean "When the possession of sufficient time has been established, my plan is to undertake the composition of a rant, the intention of which is posting." (If you think that this is an instance of the activity of kidding, it's not.)

Anyway, you can take that last sentence of your paragraph or whatever and put it at the front! It's okay!

You like to work your way up to your point? End with a flourish? Build dramatic tension?

Stop that! Reverse it!

Oooh, yeah, that's always a pain. My pain is not comparable to yours, but I do find myself deleting whole paragraphs of feedback when I realize I could have Said the Thing in a sentence or two. It takes a while of wittering to figure out what you're trying to say, I guess.
